Stage 1 – Live Online Theory

  • Three live 2-hour interactive sessions
  • Delivered by Paul via Microsoft Teams
  • Sessions run on a rolling programme, Monday evenings (7–9pm)
  • Fully live teaching — not pre-recorded or self-directed e-learning
  • Questions encouraged throughout
  • Session recordings may be provided for revision or catch-up

Cost: £30 per learner

Online theory must be completed in full before attending the practical day.
Completion of the online theory remains valid for 12 months.

For best learning and skills retention, we recommend completing the practical day within 3 months of finishing the online sessions.

Stage 2 – Practical Day

  • One full 6-hour in-person practical day
  • Must be completed to achieve certification

Delivery options:

  • External venue practical day: £99 per learner delivered on every second and Fourth Tuesday or Friday
  • In-house practical day: £695 (up to 12 learners), delivered on every First and Third Tuesday or Friday

In-house delivery may be preferable for larger groups or where minimising staff travel and disruption is important.

Key benefits

  • Less disruption to staffing and ratios
  • Easier for part-time and job-share staff
  • Reduced need for agency cover
  • Learners arrive at the practical day confident and prepared

“Paul has been coming to St Joseph’s Catholic School in Ramsgate for the past three years. Staff always ask for him specifically and don’t want anyone else — he’s that good.”

St Joseph’s Catholic School, Ramsgate, Kent

Online theory remains valid for up to 12 months, but the practical day must be booked and completed.

Typical Pricing (Guide)

We believe in clear, predictable pricing so schools and early-years settings can plan with confidence.

  • Paediatric First Aid – in-house (2-day course): £995 (up to 12 learners) (Both training days delivered on site)
  • Live online theory (blended learning): £30 per learner
  • Paediatric First Aid – external venue practical day: £99 per learner

In-house delivery includes both training days. Blended learning combines live online theory with an external practical day.

Bespoke or larger-group training is available on request.

Booking, Attendance & Non-attendance

All courses must be paid for in full at the time of booking. Payment secures the learner’s place.

Once confirmed, courses run as scheduled.

If a learner does not attend on the day, the course will still run as planned, and the place will be forfeited. A new booking and payment will be required to attend a future course.

Using this information, Paul will:

  • Review first aid cover across the school day
  • Help identify appropriate Paediatric First Aid, 1-day, and 2-day requirements
  • Highlight any obvious gaps or risks
  • Support leaders in demonstrating reasonable and proportionate provision

This is a supportive review — not an inspection or audit.

Compliance, Governance & Due Diligence

Training is delivered with awareness of:

  • Ofsted expectations
  • Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements
  • Proportionate documentation and refresher planning

Leaders are supported to speak confidently about first aid arrangements during inspection.

Practical Governance Resources

Where appropriate, support may include:

  • Injury body maps
  • Head injury advice leaflets for parents and carers
  • Clear self-care and escalation guidance
  • Consistent signposting to GP, NHS 111 and Urgent Treatment Centres

These resources help reduce anxiety, complaints and uncertainty.

Reliable Courses – Book With Confidence

Courses are planned and delivered with reliability and respect for your organisation’s time and budget.
Once a course is confirmed, it is run as planned. Courses are not routinely cancelled at short notice due to low numbers, leaving organisations out of pocket or having to rearrange staff cover.

This means:

  • External venue courses can be booked with confidence
  • Staff release and rota planning are not wasted
  • Travel and cover arrangements are respected
  • Organisations are not left chasing refunds or rearranging dates
